As the world's urban population is projected to reach 6.5 billion by 2050 amidst a climate breakdown, it becomes paramount for Urban Design to be data-driven, ensuring that decisions are scientifically informed.
The current state of urban design relies on outdated software from the 90s and a lack of data integration, leading to suboptimal and unmeasured outcomes. Despite this challenge, urban design and complex projects are handled by only about 3-4 million people globally.
At DBF, we believe that to create better cities we should unite Generative Design and Spatial Analytics to drive a sustainable and inclusive future for our rapidly urbanizing world. By empowering decision makers with scientifically informed insights, our mission is to bridge the gap between urban growth and environmental stewardship amidst the pressing challenges of climate breakdown.
"We're driven by the need to reshape urban development and complex building projects. With 75% of the world's population projected to live in cities by 2050 and mounting pressure to decarbonize the building industry, we aim to empower decision-makers with data-driven insights. We advocate for Generative Design and Spatial Analytics to address climate challenges."
